You may have noticed by now, I am a huuuge fan of scalloped paper. I think it is totally okay to repeat an element if it works for you. Here I used my jumbo scallop deco scissors to accent the cardstock behind my photo as an echo to the already scalloped American Crafts paper. Good stuff.

I splattered paint on the background cardstock for a fun and unique background.

To mat my photo, I cut a large circle out with deco scissors. I used a plate to trace out the circle shape and I used a purple pen to draw the circle before I cut it out. After I traced it out, I actually liked the look of the messy pen circle so I used that side of the patterned paper for my layout! I also hand-stitched along the photo with contrasting embroidery thread.

This month's kit was so bright and colorful I just had to play! I decided to make a mini-book to showcase my photos and all the fun papers and those awesome American Crafts journaling stickers.

I took a piece of clear 12x12 acrylic and cut it into 4x6 pages. I used a corner rounder to smooth the edges. I used gold paint to accent the edges of the pages. Enjoy!
