This is a Christmas ornament that I made using
paint, BamPop chipboard bubble frames, patterned paper and plumbers
foil.
The first thing I did was peel off the pretty paper from the
chipboard frames (as I was planning to use them in another project).
I then painted the naked chipboard with brown paint and let
dry.
Then I cut the Love Elsie paper with my scallop deco scissors
to fit nicely around each of the chipboard pieces. I really
wanted a little bit of the brown chipboard to show on the edges,
so I cut the paper much smaller than the frames.
I decorated the middle piece with a photo, some dymo label
and some small matching letter stickers. This is the part that
really defines the design of the ornament.
To get the pieces to stick together, I used super strong double
sided adhesive tape to secure the pieces together at the place
where the bubbles form a "tail." I then covered each
angle on the top with a "v" of patterned paper so
it would look even.
For stability, and to form the hanging part of the ornament,
I cut strips of the plumber's foil and burnished it along each
of the edges of the top of the ornament and then wrapped the
tape (and twisted) into a spiral. I kept adding tape and twisting
until I felt it was thick enough and strong enough to hold the
weight of the ornament.
I finished it off by tying that pretty pink boa ribbon around
the top. Super fun!
